    Innovative Laboratories

    Jinan University operates over 30 high-level research platforms, including national engineering research centers and key labs of the Ministry of Education. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Institute of Central Nervous System Regeneration is internationally advanced in brain science, while the Institute of Translational Biomedicine has made substantial progress in precision cancer treatment.

     

    The university has established 12 joint laboratories with the University of Hong Kong and the University of Macau, and eight R&D centers with multinational corporations such as Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.     The university has significant strengths in biomedicine, economics and management, and journalism and communication. Sixteen disciplines rank in the global top 1% in ESI, with pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical medicine ranking in the top 0.1%.

     

    In recent years, Jinan University has undertaken more than 500 major projects, including those under the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation. In 2
