Joint Establishment of China’s First Smart Manufacturing Industry Academy: Deepening Integration of Industry and Education

To innovate the training model for modern intelligent manufacturing talent and meet the development needs of new quality productivity in the Hetao Shenzhen–Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, Shenzhen Pengcheng Technician College and INOVANCE Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 17, 2024 to jointly establish a Smart Manufacturing Specialty Industry Academy. This marks the first such academy jointly built by INOVANCE and a college in China.

 

Representatives from both parties signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for the Smart Manufacturing Industry Academy and expressed their shared vision to serve national strategies on industry–education integration and to carry out collaborative education reforms. Moving forward, both sides will leverage their respective strengths to jointly build a world-class, benchmark specialty industry academy in stages, featuring:

  • Three Systems:

    1. A first-class talent training system for technical skills

    2. A dual-skilled, industry-aligned teaching faculty development system

    3. A top-tier vocational qualification training and certification system

  • Two Platforms:

    1. A high-end research and technical service platform

    2. A world-class international education platform for talent

  • One Base:
    A cutting-edge digital teaching demonstration base

Ultimately, the goal is to create a top-level Smart Manufacturing Industry Academy and form an elite smart manufacturing industry alliance.

At the signing ceremony, Zhou Bin, co-founder, director, and vice president of INOVANCE Technology, extended his congratulations and high expectations for this joint initiative. He emphasized that INOVANCE places great importance on talent development and, by leveraging its deep understanding of modern industrial chains and its platform within the industrial alliance, hopes to establish a long-term strategic partnership with Pengcheng Technician College. Together, they aim to explore a talent cultivation mechanism suited to smart manufacturing under the new paradigm of quality-driven productivity, and to build a new talent development hub in the Hetao Shenzhen–Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Zone.

  

In his remarks, Wu Bo, Party Secretary and President of Shenzhen Pengcheng Technician College, stated that INOVANCE is a leading enterprise in the field of industrial automation control in China. The collaboration to co-establish a specialty industry academy brings strong confidence and momentum to the college’s development of smart manufacturing programs. It also represents a new model for cultivating talent in the Greater Bay Area’s smart manufacturing industry.

He noted that the school will seize this opportunity to jointly explore educational solutions for developing new quality productivity in smart manufacturing, build a high-impact platform for high-end industry–education integration, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of Shenzhen into a global leader in advanced manufacturing.

Building a “College + Leading Enterprise” model of school–enterprise cooperation and exploring innovative mechanisms for specialty industry academies are key steps in Pengcheng Technician College’s strategic plan to deeply integrate industry and education and nurture new productivity.

This new Smart Manufacturing Industry Academy follows the school’s previous successes in:
