German Business Delegation Visits Qianhai to Explore New Cooperation Opportunities

Recently, the German Baden-Württemberg Economic and Trade Delegation, along with the German Business and Industry Entrepreneur Delegation, visited Qianhai. Both delegations gained in-depth insights into the development and innovation ecosystem of Qianhai, engaging with key enterprises in relevant sectors to discuss new opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

First Visit of Baden-Württemberg to Qianhai: Exploring New Industry Cooperation Opportunities

On July 4, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour, and Tourism of Baden-Württemberg, led an economic and trade delegation on their first visit to Qianhai. They engaged in discussions with Qianhai's intelligent transportation and robotics enterprises, aiming to understand the region's development, innovation, and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and to explore collaboration in fields such as intelligent transportation and robotics technology.

In the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, Deputy Director of the Qianhai Administration, Wen Ping, introduced the region's development and economic progress to the delegation. She also arranged briefings on the cold storage station and smart city initiatives, in line with the delegation's interests. She emphasized that as a global industrial leader, Germany has always been at the forefront of low-carbon development, and Qianhai is eager to strengthen cooperation with Germany in this area.

The delegation later visited the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth DreamWorks Phase II, where they held a discussion with the operation team of DreamWorks, Shenzhen Bus Group, Pony.ai, and other enterprises.

During the meeting, Minister Hoffmeister-Kraut highlighted that China has always been one of Baden-Württemberg’s most important international partners, with many companies in the region thriving in the Chinese market. She noted that the establishment of DreamWorks in Qianhai ten years ago has played a key role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, and she expects this exchange to spark new ideas for innovation and open up more cooperation possibilities.

Qianhai DreamWorks Operations Manager Mo Weixuan introduced that the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth DreamWorks, as a hub for innovation in the Greater Bay Area, has incubated over 600 enterprises in the past eight years, working with six Hong Kong research universities to focus on AI and fintech. DreamWorks pioneered a "1 USD first month rent + three years of discounted renewal" policy, supported by a 5 billion RMB fund and international arbitration services. The project aims to create a full-cycle incubation ecosystem, and the completion of cross-border railways by 2030 will further accelerate the flow of resources, achieving an international leap from zero to IPO. As the "first stop" for international youth in China seeking entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, DreamWorks welcomes more enterprises from Baden-Württemberg to develop their businesses in the area.

During the business discussion, Shenzhen Bus Group and Pony.ai, as leaders in the intelligent transportation field, shared their practical experiences in autonomous vehicle operations. Companies from Baden-Württemberg, such as Geislingen Vehicle Manufacturing Co., the Baden-Württemberg Electric Vehicle Association, Byte Factory AI Ltd., and the Ulm Regional Startups and Innovation Center, actively discussed potential cooperation in autonomous driving technology. At the same time, companies such as TuLing Technology, Ascend Technology, and Comma.ai focused on core robotics technologies and engaged in lively discussions with participants.

This exchange successfully established a cooperation bridge between enterprises from Baden-Württemberg and Qianhai, providing strong support for deeper cooperation and technology integration. Looking ahead, both sides are expected to explore broader and deeper cooperation in transportation and robotics technology, jointly discovering limitless possibilities for technological innovation and real-world application.
